Design and Evaluation on Onboard Antenna Pointing Control System for a Wireless Relay System Using Fixed-Wing UAV

Among several usages of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), wireless relay systems for high altitudes using fixed-wing UAVs, or high-altitude platform stations (HAPS), are some the most promising applications. To realize by making advantages long flight duration and endurance airplanes, this paper proposes an antenna pointing control system mechanical gimbals onboard a UAV continuously turning midair describes results blocking analysis driving angles gimbal directed to ground station, design system, evaluation its performance. It is confirmed that, though accuracy greatly influenced noisy direction command, improved highly accurate RF sensor detect direction.
